Aims and objectives of section "Chemical subsystems for artificial cells"
The ultimate aim of this part of the PACE project was to design and create a chemical replicator for which replication is physically or chemically coupled to both container as well as metabolic chemistry, as this could be a cornerstone in one type of artificial cell. Another goal was to design and create a chemical replicator based on DNA and/or PNA chemistry which could be implemented for optimization (and evolution) in the omega machine.
